Associate, Strategy Practice

New York, NY

The Strategy practice is hiring an Associate to work directly with the partners on the pen. The Associate will hold two live engagements at once in most weeks, contribute to the market and operating analysis behind each recommendation, and take a section of the memo on every engagement they work on. Client contact is direct and frequent.

What the work involves

  • Building the market and operating analysis that grounds a strategy recommendation
  • Drafting sections of the memo the partner signs
  • Preparing materials and holding sections of client working sessions
  • Contributing to the internal review of the engagement before it is delivered

What Arbano Group looks for

  • Three to five years of post-graduate experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, investment banking, or an operating role with strategic content
  • An undergraduate degree in a numerate subject, or a demonstrated equivalent
  • Fluent Excel modelling and a working command of the analytical tools the practice uses day to day
  • Writing that reads as a considered argument, tested through the written exercise in the hiring process
  • The right to work in the United States

What Arbano Group offers

  • Base salary in the range of $145,000 to $175,000, calibrated to the New York management consulting market at this experience level
  • Performance bonus at the firm's standard band for the Associate cohort
  • Health, dental, and vision coverage. 401(k) with firm contribution. Twenty days of paid leave in addition to firm holidays.
  • Direct partner supervision from the first week

Associate, Operations and Performance Practice

New York, NYClient-site travel

The Operations and Performance practice is hiring an Associate to work on cost, working-capital, and operating-model engagements alongside the partner leading each mandate. The role suits a candidate whose previous work has put them close to operating data and inside operating conversations. Site work with clients is a regular part of the engagement pattern.

What the work involves

  • Building the operating and financial baseline against which each engagement is measured
  • Working through operating data with the client's own finance and operations teams
  • Drafting sections of the memo the partner signs
  • Preparing materials for the CFO and COO conversations the partner leads

What Arbano Group looks for

  • Three to five years of experience in management consulting, corporate finance, or an operating role with a cost or working-capital remit
  • An undergraduate degree in a numerate subject, or a demonstrated equivalent
  • Fluent operating and financial modelling in Excel, alongside comfort with the data environments a client operates in
  • Writing that reads as a considered argument, tested through the written exercise in the hiring process
  • Willingness to travel to client sites for portions of an engagement. Travel averages one to two nights a week over a typical mandate.
  • The right to work in the United States

What Arbano Group offers

  • Base salary in the range of $150,000 to $180,000, calibrated to the New York market for this practice at this experience level
